BLACK OXIDE (STEEL)
Black Oxide finish is a conversion coating process used to add shelf life to steel parts. It is virtually non-dimensional. The hot black oxide finish gives a dark lusterous black color that will not peel. Our finish meets military specification MIL-DTL-13924 type II.
Reasons for using Black Oxide Finish:
1. Corrosion resistance
2. Black Color
3. Lubricity
4. Non reflective Finish
5. Relatively low cost in comparison to other platings
6. No chipping or flaking like paint or zinc.
7. Non dimensional change in ID or OD
8. Mirror images the finish on the steel rather than cover
over the part.
Capabilities include lengths up to 45 inches.
